    Critique? First post

    Hey guys,
This is my first post. I just got my new camera yesterday. It's a Fuji FinePix S700/S5700. These were shot manually, and I think numbers 3 and 4 are slightly too dark, but I was wondering your opinions on the group. Any constructive criticism or praise would be great! The subject is a model of a 1953 Chevrolet Corvette. Thanks in advance!

Also, if you would like to know a little bit about me, I am almost 15 years old and I am an avid road cyclist. I just got interested in serious photography and so far I love it!

Hmm... it looks like my photos aren't showing up? Anyone know why? I hope you don't mind clicking some links

Nice shots. Good lighting and contrast - I like the black and white. Have you thought about getting some posterboard, either black or white to use as a base/backdrop? If it's 1/72 scale you could even go with a sheet of printer paper pushed up against a coffee cup.

Thanks! The thought hadn't occurred to me to use a white backdrop, but I might try it!

    Let me see!
Edit... Okay, I don't know why your aren't showing up. I did a link with my image and it worked fine.

Anyway, great start with your shots. I'm a sucker for scale cars (the only thing I've ever collected). Like the guys said. You should mess around with back grounds. Then you can mess around with lighting. A small desk lamp or even a flashlight in a dark room (if you make up some diffusers --be creative with things).

That was from a race I did in August. I'm in the BikeLine kit with the red helmet. I actually don't have many pictures of me on the bike.

    Hi G Ike,

If you would like a critique on the second set of photo's, then you should start a second thread, as they aren't related to the first set of photo's.

I do like the first series of photo's, very creative with the angles and lighting and they seemed reasonably sharp.

Those weren't to be critiqued, mattbikeboy posted a picture of himself riding, and asked that I did the same. Anyway, thanks for the critique! The only lighting I used was from a desk lamp. I tried the white background, but I didn't like it as much. Maybe I'll try again today when I'm not as tired.
