These seem snapshot-ish to me. Not to be too negative, I'd have to denote the following.
# 1 has no central subject.
# 2 is blurry. It is either not focused and/or had too slow a shutter speed. The bird is also too centered, though at least he is offset to the top. The excess negative space at the bottom seems wanting for something.
# 3 is relatively decent, but too bad he isn't bigger in the frame. The JPEG compression is too much -- there's very noticable artifacts around the fellow, esp around the beak. This is what happens when you over-compress an image. Note that the max. size for a file is (I believe) 244 kb on the site, and it registers 11.57 kb. So there's simply no reason to over-compress like you did here.

A noble try there, Don. I don't have anything to add to what anyone else has told you. I'm in the same sort of fix as you......not enough equipment . You need a really long, fast lens for getting bird shots.
