    The Covered Bridge

Two different angles, taken on different days. One of the shots has two versions....relating to the crop. Which works best?

    Re: The Covered Bridge

I like crop 1 of the second photo. The way the railing leades my eye to the bridge and the far opening does it for me.

I like the last two the best. Some clouds would have helped as well. This might would have made an interesting HDR. If you had detail in and out of the bridge that is.

I like the sky in the first pic, but prefer the composition of crop one of the second pic. Opening up the crop as you did gives us a lead into the subject and sets it up well. you could have also taken one like that but just over to your right a bit to get the front as well as some of the side of the bridge . . .a 45 deg angle somewhat.similiar to the angle of the first pic, but from the other side and with more lead in as the crop one.

    Re: The Covered Bridge

    Thanks guys.

Frog, that was my preference of the two. I added the second version in case someone were to say..."I'd like to see a tighter crop"

Greg...I'm not HDR compliant I would have liked some clouds there too.

Gary...moving to the side to get the 45 degree angle would have put me in the water.
I took about 10-15 shots, but these were the best of the bunch. Next time I'm down that way, I'm hoping for some white puffys overhead, and will keep exploring every possibilty. I'd like to get some from the inside of the bridge, too. I never seem to think of shooting from the inside. You and others do it so well.

Agreed, on all accounts. The first thing I thought about this picture is what it would look like with some contrasting skies. HDR would make for some fun pictures.

This bridge is a great subject for dozens of different kinds of shots.
