    A couple from Yosemite

I posted these over in the Photo project forum, but thought I'd pass these by the crowd here to get a little feedback.

Don't worry about being blunt or harsh, I'm trying to improve. I'm also planning on another trip to Yosemite later this year and it would be good to get some tips for the next trip.

    Thanks in advance,

PS - I know the falls are too bright. I've got to watch out for that.

The problem with your first image (impressive as it is) is that that view is almost a cliche having been shot so many times.

Your second image is much more interesting to me. Great water shot but I do wish that there was more water in the foreground. Perhaps if you had pointed your camera just a little lower or shot in portrait format.
    No, I DON'T need that.

I agree with MB on the crop of the second one, but nothing to add on the first but it's a great picture. Well done.

rylans700 - Thanks. I'm not a pro or anything either so your opinion is as valid as mine.

MB - Yes, the first is somewhat cliche. That's one of the problems with Yosemite, there must be millions of shots floating around. That's also a good idea on the framing. I was trying to include some of the spray from above leading into the shot. Portrait would have been better or a wider lens. My biggest problem was that I was getting wetter the longer I stood there.

Greg - Thanks for the encouragement and the confirmation on the crop/orientation suggestion.

Thanks for looking and especially for commenting. It is very appreciated.

I really like the second picture (first one too). I think the water AND mist are really clear. It is really inspiring to see all these pictures,

Yosemite is in my list of places to visit. I hope my pictures are as nice as the two shots that you are sharing. I know it is hard to come up with a new take in such a popular place, but I believe that you did a good job here. Ansel Adams loved to photograph Yosemite and his photographs are classic works of art. You may want to see some of his images for inspiration.

bindows & jorger101 - Thanks for commenting. Ansel Adams is indeed very inspiring and Yosemite is a beautiful place. I'll have to see if I have some other shots that aren't so stereotypical.

These are nice PC but, I think this one that you posted at Flickr takes the cake:
