    Re: Couple O' Canscapes

In the first one, I think that the big blue can detracts from the image overall. Perhaps put it in the background where appears smaller than the other cans.
The second one I very much like the comp and the sharp snow, but I don't like the twig in the can. I can envision a little gravy and and a plastic spoon or pocket knife in the snow.
    My thoughts,
    Mark.

Ahh! I now have my can "fix" for the week.. HA
I like both of these shots. I do agree with Mark on the big blue can. Maybe it's the position of the can.
It looks like it could start rolling down the sand pile any minute.
btw......What do you use to filter down the bright sky in the blue can shot?

I really like the DOF in the single can shot. When I see a can like this one....... it reminds me of picking up earthworms to carry fishing when I was a kid. Seriously...... I think a big earthworm draped over the edge of this can would fit in nicely.

    Re: Couple O' Canscapes

I really like both of these but I must comment

Top - I do like the oversized can but I think you may have oversized it too much by a small amount. I love the background and can imagine the waiter (can) bringing the cans lounging on the beach front their drinks.

Bottom great shot of the snow crystals and perfect DOF. My only comment is the cable tie used for electrical stuff on the twig does not add to the photo and should be removed. I feel it would have been better to have a twig with a single leaf.

    Hi Gary

The first one is my favourite . If i could vote off all your can series , my bet will be on this one .I nearly thought it looks like a chemical plant in the background , but when i look a bit closer and longer it looks like trees . The compositon is great .
What would our world be without cans ?
The second photo , i like the placement of the can and the shallow dof you used .
    Great work again !

    Regards

Nice additions - great composition and DOF but your vibrant yet muted colors are still what work best for me.

    Hello Gary,

First one: I like how you play with perspectives. I know that the cans are small but they could almost look gigantic in comparison with the background. The dusty/sandy texture of the cans is nice too. It enhance the tridimensional feel of the picture. However, I am thinking that you might have went too far with your dodgin/burning work. The overall effect is artsy but also very surreal. It feels a tad too manipulated for me but thats just my personal take on it.

Second one: The snow is very well rendered and I love the textures in the foreground. I like this one straight like it is.

    Gary,

Great additions to the series. Love the second one, that elongated shadow of the can on the snow, great concept.

    Awesome shots,

    Jared

Gary, I find both shots interesting & love the rich colored cans against the beautifully detailed foreground. I'm so impressed with this series and I've observed that as you go along that just as the "view from within" series your work progressively gets better. Love those cans.
