    Re: contrasting colors

Fantasic colors and great composition as mentioned. I never cease to be captivated by a sun lit scene with a dark cloud backdrop. It just one of those uber cool things..

Any chance you did an isolated shot, perhaps a verticle one of the bigger tree? Would be curious to see that..

    cheers.

    Beautiful shot James.
Great colour contrast and composition. Little tight on the cropping for me but I still love it.

    Paul ,

Thank you for you suggestion for a vertical shot. Did not took one , but i cropped it to look like a vertical shot with only the big tree.

    Roger ,

Thanks for commenting , much appreciated !

    Jon .

The cropping was a bit tight , but there was some distracting stuff in the photo that was spoiling it a bit .
    Thanks for looking .

Great shooting James. The tight crop of the single tree is an interesting composition, but still a great shot. Lovely colors in both pics too! Great shooting,

    Re: contrasting colors

James, the incoming storm is felt in the image. i like it. I would only like to have seen more space around the tress as Jon pointed out as it is cropped rather tightly. But other than that this is a very good image. Well done.

I love this picture, especially the vertical crop of the single tree. Great subject and good timing. The slight bit of green really contrasts with the brown and the sky. The eucalyptus tree is beautiful and blowing in the wind I can almost smell the fragrance coming from it.
The only suggestion I can make is to take a lot more pictures when you get great scene like this. ;)
    Nice job tho!

Great light, good choice of the trees to highlight the light underside in the breeze.

I'd appreciate it if someone can tell me why this is good composition, because I can't see it.
I know that I like it, but I don't understand why.

It's not perfect but there are many good points.
    - complimentary colours
    - clean BG and edges
    - main points of interest on or near intersecting lines of Rule-of-Thirds. Creates movement within frame; your eyes move from point to point without leaving the pic.
    - good horizon line placement
    - nothing dragging your eye out of the picture
    - distinct fore, middle and BG

can anyone else add o(or subtract) anything?

On my monitor it looks more like a not very bright sunny day with little evidence of an oncoming storm. The composition does very little for me and I'm not too sure what can rescue it. Colours on trees very nice indeed.

    Green and Flowers

I think I like the vertical better. But I really wish you'd included more of the green and flowers in the foreground. They act as an anchor for me and keep my eye traveling back and forth between the sky, the tree, and the bottom of the image.

Great shot James. The title is right for this shot. The colors are really good. I like the mix in this one. Both photos are good but I guess I would lean toward the verticle crop.

    Hello James,

Your picture is quite memorable. I love the blend of light and colors. Ultimately, I'd like to have an horizontal frame with just one tree (imagine your original shot without the left tree...). But still, this is a great one.

    Thanks for sharing

    Re: contrasting colors

I can smell the moisture and a bit of earth in that first blast of the wind turning to bring us the storm and turning the leave's backs to it. If I were on a tractor, trying to get done what fieldwork I could before the storm, this moment is where I'd turn and head for the barn - and probably still get a few big cold drops on my back before I got there.

I've seen the beauty of this moment many times and enjoyed it. I'm glad that someone has had the good sense and talent to capture it as such a strong photo.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
