    Cormorants

    Last ones, I promise.

I took more shots of cormorants than anything else.

Again, do any of them appeal to you?

    Re: Cormorants

    Speed,

I like all of these, pretty much in the order you have them, with the first one being my favorite. These appeal more to me than the Coots, because the composition shows more of the bird's surroundings. The blurred swimming bird in the last shot is bit distracting, and there are some detail-stealing shadows in others, but over all, very good.

Speed, I think they're lovely shots, and if I had to make a suggestion, I'd say the bottom three probably could use some cropping to make them a little less centered.

"pretty much in the order you have them, with the first one being my favorite."

    Thanks Paul,

The first one seems to be a favorite, primairarly because it's an environmental shot. The second one with the bird preening seems to be everyones second favorite. I understand about the blurred bird being distracting in the last shot. I thought it was neat because I had a cormorant, a coot and a gull in it. But I should have used a more DOF or framed that one tighter. BTW, the spots in the second and third shots are turtle heads. They are all over that lake.

Thank you again for taking the time to comment on these. I appreciate your input.

I do appreciate the feedback. I'll have to start paying more attention to framing and cropping "in camera".

    Thanks for the comments buddy!
