    In the Conservatorium

    An oldy shot at the local Conservatorium of Music..Part of a series..

    Nikon FE2/Nikkor 35-105 f3.5
    Soft focus filter
    Fujichrome 400 pushed 2 stops to 1600ISO
    Print scanned

    There is definitely something special about this one. That's a very well composed image and your model is truly pretty. I am not sure is your soft focus filter is too soft or not! I like the idea but the softening is a little strong for my tastes.

    Seb,,the effect of soft focus filters are dependant on the aperture used..The larger the aperture the more dramatic the result..I wish I knew the EXIF for these images..It has been too long..

    I've looked at your other conservatorium shots as well. I have the same critique for all for so I'll just put it here instead of copying and pasting.

    I think they're all very artisitc and have great setting, pose, lightning & mood. Just top notch.

    The thing that puts me off is the amount of noise. Like this one here for example. I can just imagine in my mind how a beautiful crisp, sharp and noiseless shot of this would've looked like and I think it would've been much more beautiful.

    Leels it is not noise but film grain...I pushed processed Fujichrome 400 to 1600ISO which is probably way beyond its limit...In this situation I like the effect and IMHO adds to the mood..
