Love the composition and jet black on the right !! Neat arrangement. I wish the light trail said something (if it does, I am not reading it).

It's a nice shot alright, and creative, but suffers from too much burnout. I know this is tough to control ......... Maybe a softer lamp light next time?

Yeah, I cannot get a proper ETTL reading when I have to do this on a timer,so I need to do manual to avoid blowing out the face. In this context, however, I actually liked it. Creates a bit of the Elric albino mystique. I tried to restore some of the detail in the face, but even the -4 exposure in the raw file was washed. Got some detail back in the eye on the washed side, but....

GB.the light trail is not desinged in anyway. I guess if you are trying to be an artist in this technique, you need to learn how to gesture in a determined way with the light. I am just learning though. I have some ideas on stuff to do, but it is always so hard to tell whether gestures are going to cover up important compositional elements like your eyes or your mouth. Really tricky, even if you are sober, I suspect.... and not camping, etc...
