I like the detail and the geometric feel, but that’s coming from a guy who likes to shoot silos. Sorry not much of a critique but I think its a nice shot.

    Re: Condensation

Roger, the lighting on the subject brings it out very well, to the point that it makes it a treat to study it's shape and design. the title suggests the photo is about the condensation that must be forming on/in the cone, but from this web version I cannot make out enough detail to know that it is condensation without you having led me to it. Regardless of that aspect, the image is pleasing to view and the framing just right. The light square shape behind the cone allows the peak of the cone to pop off nicely. I would imagine in a larger print the condensation would be more apparent.
    Very good.

Very good Roger. I particularily like the different background shapes that the placement of the little roof has facilitated. The square on the hypotenuse indeed.
    Well seen.

I agree with Gary that it is hard to see the condensation, maybe another title? But I like the picture. It is well framed. Nice composition and colors.

Roger, I like the sense of depth with the placement of the bushes in front on the left and behind on the right.

    Re: Condensation

Hi Roger - I thought you did a really good job with the exposure on this one. It does look like condensation, yet without being washed out or anything. I think I would prefer it without the white bit though top right. Is there a different angle to shoot this from?

    Cheers

    Re: Condensation

Thanks for looking and critiquing. I wasn't sure about this photo.

MW - thanks its what drew me to the photo along with the condensation glistening in a short spell of sun between heavy rain showers.

Gary - Thanks - the lighting was a sudden shock, I'd gone out to take a few photo's of flowers for this month's project. Wanted raindrops on the flowers. Instead this is what I got. Its my wife's green house which doesn't get used much now days. Your right in the large version the condensation comes out clear as a bell and no matter how I resized this for the web I couldn't get it any better. I took about 10 shots at different exposures and different composition but this is the only one that stood out thanks to the light and composition.

Overbeyond - I agree the shapes which drew me to this along with the light. This has been in the garden for years and I never spotted this until the other day, talk about being blind to things under your nose.

jkriminger - I nearly converted this to B&W but left it in the muted colours as it was taken.

Greg - I agree that the title could have been better but couldn't think of anything because I was looking at the A4 version of the pic at the time.

John - I switched to the 100-400mm to get the compression to compress the depth. The plants on the right are in my next door neighbours garden:lol: I'm glad this worked.

Mike - I am assuming its the sky that your refereing to, the block that the cone peaks into. This was a very grey day with just a quick flash of sun which lasted about 20minutes; most of the day was a torrential downpour. On the left of the greenhouse there is a large bush/tree not sure what it is but it has very small blue flowers, and on the right there is a large bush fence, so there is not much space to move right or left to re-compose. I did try other compositions but could not get a clean view of the components that were attracting me which included the light on the condensation.
