    Colosseo

    Hello again friends,

I had such a crazy year, got my camera and equipment stolen in cuba last december. And no insurance! It took me some time to recover and save money. It's been somewhat of a blessing though, i upgraded to the Nikon D300 and i've been very happy with it. I made my way to Europe about a month ago and just came back.

    very nice shot.
looks like the sky may have been a little over worked though.
there are some odd coloured pixels above the left hand side of the Colosseum

Liban, nice to see you back. Sorry to hear about your equipment, but you have turned it into a positive.
This is a spectacular shot. Perhaps as Tiff said it might be a little heavy on the saturation or brilliance, but it is some sweet eye candy here.
Might like to see a bit more space all around especially at the bottom where the people are cut off, but that really is a minor pik.
    Great image.

    Shooter Tiff,
This shot was straight out of the camera. All i did was resize, add border and a bit of sharpness. I really don't see what you're seeing in the upper left, could be the compression, but in the original. the blue is very smooth cause i shot it in a very low ISO . Thanks for the feedback.

    Gary,
Thanks bro. Nice to see you still here as well!
The saturation was because I was shooting in the Vivid mode of my cam. Most of my shots where shot in that mode! lol
There was a fence behind me and I didn't have any wider angle lenses that's why it's so tight. There are other vidws of the coliseum but this is the most famous, where we get to see the missing side bit. Thanks as always Gary!

This is beautiful. I love the deep saturated blue of the sky contrasted with the sodium vapor orange lights. I too see the artifacts that Tiff is talking about they are pretty much along the entire length of the top of the coliseum. Probably compression artifacts.

Very nice! Can I ask what your shutter speed was?
I thought it was an hdr until you said straight out of camera.

    Liban,

Sorry to hear about the lost camera's.

Looks good to me, Gary and Tiff stated my comments on this. Love the colours.

Was the camera set to vivid colours? and was a ploarizer used to enhance the colours?

Congrats on the new camera. Above what the others have wrote. I think cloning the people with their feet cut off would help. But a great picture. Nice work.

    Re: Colosseo

    hello roger,

yeah it was set to vivid (for the majority of my trip). I just loved that seting it gave me some really strong colours that i was never used to. but judging from the comments here, maybe i should ease down on that

no, i didn't use any polarizers. Just the vivid setting and my 18-200 mm lense, set to 18mm.

    thanks!

    Hi Greg,

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm really thinking of cloning those people out. Thank u.
