    color levels

Inspired by the recollection of Yoyo Szeto's work a month or so ago, I spotted this last night while shooting something else:

The composition works well here and there is clearly a lot going on in this scene, so much so that I am not quite sure where I should be looking exactly. Saying that, the different colours on each of the floors and the steps leading the eye through the picture help well, perhaps the silhouette of a figure infront of one of the bright backgrounds would be interesting?? Great scene, will be interested to see what Yoyo has to say...

Great picture. Very nice mix between abstract and concrete. I like that you have left the dark top part in.

Nice capture...I love the color "levels." It looks a little out of focus though...

Good shot jetrim. the colours are very nice. love the shapes as well. There's something about it that bugs me. i think it might be oversharpenned. on my screen. I also woulda loved to see a version where u zoomed in to the three levels at the bottom. it's very interesting indeed.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I think if it ever stops raining here, I'll head down and reshoot this from a closer vantage point and try to tighten it up a bit, but it's nice to hear that it "works" for others.

I like the composition but the highlights are a little over exposed. Try exposing some more for the bright areas and bring up the shadow detail in PPing.

Commented last night but guess I forgot to hit submit..again.
I really like this. I suppose the higlights are overexposed but I conside that to be part of its appeal.
If you do re-shoot, do whatever you can to get the silhouette of a person in there. Several places would work.
    Nice stuff!

Jetrim - It has a futuristic and at thes same time a retro feel to it (I guess that means it doesn't fit into 'now'). I love the colors but am not sure the right side lives up to the rest. the composition is unconventional, which is OK.. Not sure about the level of sharpness and the way the brights edge towards blown out. It almost seems like you have to use a low-contrast filter or ?

Anyway, good eye here. Really enjoy the colors.
