    Color Or Grayscale?

The lovely wife again. She loves this image. She prefers color (like I do) but likes this one in Grayscale as well. Which do you prefer?

Minor touchup in PS Elements 2.0 (cloned out a dust speck), resized to 640 pixels.

Very cute shot! I too prefer the color. I would also highly recommend cropping the top to the top of her head. It makes a dramatic compositional impact. I feel that she is a bit lost in the frame without the crop, but with the crop the emphasis is much more on her face and eyes. A nice candid looking shot!!

I appreciate the feedback. I'll have to look at cropping it and see how she likes that! I've taken some tighter shots of her, but she isn't real keen on them. Here's one I took by the window, using a white sheet to camera left as a reflector. I like this one so much, I've got an 8X10 of it on my wall at work, and another 8X10 on my dresser at home.

BTW, is your avatar a self-portrait?

    Wink Beautiful portrait, Speed

    Speed,

My comments are in reference to the larger image of Dawn - the one that you have in your office.

I haven't viewed the first 2 (they are only icons on my screen, but I will try to click on them)

I think this is one of the best photos of Dawn I've see you post. The composition, color, beautiful smile, background blur. Everything looks good on my screen. I don't see anything I would change. Did you shoot this with your new lens?

Question I can't get these 2 images on my screen

There are 2 icons instead of images on my screen. When I click on them I get a message: "this device is not ready."

    Thanks for any advice/help.

Liz, I see the same thing as you do.

I am curious if anyone can actually see the images. I had to right click and save them to my desktop to see them Liz. Again as with your photos in the other forum, the extension is different. (right click and select properties.) We need to find out if it's the way they are uploaded or if there is a glitch somewhere in the programming.

I dont like attaching the files, I prefer to just direct link them and use the vbulletin code. Seems to be more consistent. But then again I know my way around these forums from the various bike sites I visit.

Again I appreciate your help. Knowing others experience the same thing gives me hope as then I'm more sure it's not another aol gliche.

Definitley not AOL Liz. John and I are talking and as I posted in your thread in Viewfinder, it looks that posting more than one photo in a thread is the cause. John is looking to see if there is a setting to allow more than one. John or I will let you know what he is able to find.

I took the larger shot of Dawn back in May 2003. I shot it with my 70-300mm @70mm, and probably at f4. I used a white sheet as a reflector, and I was close to the minimum focusing distance of that lens (five feet). I wish I had a large "picture" window to take portraits by. But you work with what you have.

Thanks for the comments, and I'm glad you liked the shot.

Thanks Natalie. I do not mind having others manipulate my images. This one is very nice. I like the tight crop and I love what you did to the background and her skin tones. I can see I'm going to have to pick your brain on PS techniques!

Actually, Dawn has another image she wants me to work on in PS Elements, but doesn't want me to post it. I don't think it's nearly as provocative as this one, but she thinks it is. Go figure. I'll play with it, and if I can't get it to suit me, I'll give you a holler.
