    color or b/w?

I think I need to bump the exposure a bit on the b/w but which do you prefer and any other suggestions. Wish I could remember where this door is. and I'd get a squarer shot.

tough choice frog. before scrolling down i loved the bw version but this color on the door really makes it pop. i'll have to go with the second one. the teal/turquoise is really a great color choice!

Yeah, tough call, they both look good - but I agree that the B&W should be brighter and maybe a touch moe contrasty.

I like the color version the best I would maybe play around a little with the saturation, illumination. I would personally crop it a little tighter on both sides of the frame to get rid of the plants to me they are a distraction.

The black and white does more for me. it just deepens the shot a bit more.

Frog, I love the color of the door here, but, I'll have to agree with Liban that the b&w offers more. The door stands out more because the tones are lighter on the wall in the b&w version where in the color version they almost blend together because of the similiar hue.
I would go with the b&w, but increase your exposure adjustment here by 1/2 a stop or more. No crop for me.

    Re: color or b/w?

Looks like I'll be keeping both as I find things I like about them both too.
Fortunatly I shot raw so can keep playing around. I know I can get a bit better with both if I take the time and I want to do better with the skew.
Thanks for the opinions! and I only wish I could remember where this door is.....the shot is over a year old.

I prefer the color one, although it begs for a descent curves correction. As for the B&W one; seems to me that you simply desaturated. I would like to suggest to use a different method, like for example using Photoshop's channel mixer or the B&W tool in CS3 and later, you will achieve a much better result. I don't know about Elements though if that's what you use.

Color all the way Frog. The b&w seems a little flat to me. I'd play with that one more.

    Re: color or b/w?

You have a good memory, shootme. I actually cannot remember if its a neighborhood door...lol...but I think I know which one it is.
I know I'm guilty of pushing things a bit too far, everyone so I'll work on this one some more.
Thankfully I've been convinced a while ago to shoot just about everything in raw.
    Thankyou everyone for your insight.

    Frog,

B&W for me but adjust the contrast to gibe it a bit more oomph.
