cold hard steel in a soft warm light

A quick grab shot as I was picking up material at the steel yard early this morning.

Nice blue colors! Not an impressive photograph, but not so bad either. The problem with pretty abstract subjects is that they are often unable to "live a life on their own", unlike that old rusty car on the junk yard. Subjects like these work best with interesting patterns, colors, framing, textures, reflections, etc, some of which I do see in the photograph, but sadly not strong enough. Nevertheless asking yourself why it doesn't work (or little things that do work) can help you to improve your skills, basically no photograph is a bad one if you get my drift. ;)

Nice, might need +1/2 EV to lighten the spools.
