    Coin Laundry

I pass this everyday and never seemed to catch it with people in it and no cars parked in front. What do you feel about the crop and person inside and everything else too. Thanks.

    Re: Coin Laundry

I like it. Good crop, good subject and good thinking to watch for a time when there are no cars. The person inside definitely adds to the shot. It would be nice if the person was standing in front of one of the dryers, but not a big deal. My only other suggestion would be to crank up (darken) the black levels a little. The blacks look washed out and noisy to me, but that could just be my monitor.

    Nice catch!

I think the crop is a little too panoramic for the subject but I do think it could make a very nice image.

    Keep trying.
    No, I DON'T need that.

I agree with Paul and MB1 on this one Greg. Definitely needs some sort of noise reduction and a little less of a pano crop. I love the blues inside the laundromat and the bright red of the soda machine. They really pop against the drab colors of the rest of the scene. I might try and play on that a bit. A great scene with lots of potential

Greg, I agree with alot of the comments already. The pano crop is too tight a fit around this subject. I think this scene may be really interesting if it is possible to have this subject look like it is a small place in the middle of nowhere. Alot of dark sky above it might give it that small vulnerable feel. Maybe thats not what you want, but I think it could work great here. Great subject but more space around it, especially above I feel.

Paul, I ran this through neat image but went light on the effect, I tried not to over do it. I also processed it on a different computer and was unsure what I was seeing as far as noise. I will also work on the black levels.
MB, Aaron, Gary. The original had more sky but I was unsure if it was to much negative space or not and that is easily fixed. Gary I am glad you like the feel to the shot. That's an area I have been working on, Mood..
Thanks for all of the input. I will work on the suggestions...

I like the new edit, but this monitor I'm looking at can't be trusted (at work).

I liked the original--the diminished black of the sky is the way the sky looks at night in a city. This is a good documentary of our time. Maybe a little more sky would emphasize the down-to-earth quality of the place.

I like the concept a lot. I think you need to make it a real deal and use a tripod, etc., so that it's noise-free and perfectly composed.

    Paul, thanks again.
    Don, Nice points.
Dr. Thanks. Two reasons I didn't use a tripod. I felt the shot would have been ruined if the guy had moved while shooting and he was nervous enough after just a couple of shots. I agree bout the noise though...
This isn't the best neighborhood to be taking pictures of just anybody. If you know what I mean.LOL
