    Coca Cola

Hi all .. as part of my working through some pictures taken this year, but not having had the time to do much with, this was taken from the top of an observation tower in Istanbul last May.

    What do you think?

    Cheers

This works, Mike. I think it could be too busy but the sign seems to hold it all together. My only offering here for critique might be that having the sign in stronger focus might work better, as it really is the sign that holds it all together. Actually hard to tell where the focal point was in this smaller image compressed for the web. Could be that it is in sharp focus. I think this works well, Mike.

Gary - I think that version was a little soft - I had applied very little sharpening to it. Here is another version, cropped somewhat and sharpened just a little more. It only looks soft resized for the web I think - the full tiff looks ok to me.

    Cheers

    Re: Coca Cola

I'm not sure which version I like better but the second is sharper.
I find it a very interesting shot. The only recognizable thing in the photo being that
Coca-Cola sign which is known world-wide.
I also find the prevalance of sattelite dishes quite interesting. 30/40 years ago they would have been tv antennae.

Mike I think only a large print could do this one any justice at all. I would love to see it printed up. I agree with Gary on that. I am sure all of the detail would come through. I would like to see all of the goodies on the ledges and in the windows. I do see a bunch of TV dishes. LOL All of the buildings do seem to be leaning a touch left. I like it Mike.

The sharpened and cropped version looks a bit better. Yep, from experience with printing my own works and being able to see the differences in detail against print and screen, this thmages that will most likely look fantastic in print. As frog and Greg pointed out, all the little goodies including the satellite dishes will be there to enjoy and think about in a nice sized print.
    Looking good.
