Lots of colour here. The light makeup on the cheeks compensate for it being in the shadow. Would have been cool if we could see just a bit more of the eye. Certainly portrays the mood.

Sebastien... It's a great shot. It looks like he's just standing right in front of me. Makes me want to run! lol Why do people think kids like these freaks? heh The DOF you chose, just isolates him in all his weirdness. The colors are just brilliant. I consider this a professional photo and I'm sure there would be a market for it. The clarity is so amazing that I immediatly looked at your profile to see what kind of camera you use. Only says Digi SLR. Would you care to share it. Also, I'm wondering if you used a telephoto lens to get this or were you close to him? I also noticed that it you live in Salt Lake City. Do you have any shots of the city? I'd love to see what it looks like. Ok, I'll shut up.
    Very nice work.

Thank you for your nice comments. For this shot I used an EOS 10D (Jpeg fine, I was too short on the memory to go RAW) with the EF 70-200mm f/4.0 (Here @ 150mm f/4.5), shutter speed was 1/1000s. I did some PS for contrast and saturation.

Here is another one I took the same day.

    Thank you.

    Seb

PS: I do not have any good shot of Downtown Salt Lake, I need to work on it!

Second shot is well done! You certainly got the eyes here. This photo pops out of the screen. I don't find clowns "scary". I wouldn't particularly want to be this close to a "normal" complete stranger, but somehow the makeup makes the closer encounter more acceptable. Nice job!

I love the second one!! The first is a bit melancholy for my tastes, but that's a personal quibble, yes? The second one pops right out at you, though!! Makes me want to go to the circus.

I prefer the first one (because of the colors), but yes it is a matter of taste . No I did not do any thing in post-process to blur the backgroung, just big aperture, long focal and I was pretty close to the guy. Since you like clowns, here is a third one...

    Thank you!
