    Closed For Rennovation

I found this place some time ago, and kept thinking that I had to get back and grab some shots. The textures and color of the exterior demanded investigation.

    Re: Closed For Rennovation

I can see why it "demands investigation".
Lots of textures going on here. I'd want to do a re shoot when light is softer.
Maybe decrease your exposure and bump the shadows if they were shot in raw.

    Re: Closed For Rennovation

I really am caught by the first photo. Reminds me of a place I went with some regularity until it was closed one day by the health department in Florida.

Lots of good colors, textures, and shapes to work with plus the the decay!

The first photo would be better for me if it included more of the scene along the lower portion of the photo. That way it would have the sweep of the walls at both top and bottom forcing my eye back into the image.

If you can go back again, try playing with the finish marks in the stucco as an element too.

    Good setting you've discovered.

Thanks, fellas. I'll have to catch this again the next time I go that way. The place is about 40 miles from here, but my wife and I like to take that route when we're going to visit her family. This will certainly be an area for further study.

Photo op's galore. Image 1 grabs my eye. I think I saw a place like this on Miami Vice once. Worthy of a sunset/dusk prowl.
