    Re: Closed

i think it needs to be rotated to portrait. Even if it wasn't naturally that way. the absolute first thing i did, was rotate my head, with out meaning to. other than that i like the subject and good blurring of the background, but as the background lightens it seems to distract me(aka for a little bit more towards perfection).

yeah, id also suggest rotating it, was it like this? or did you rotate it for the affect? good detail, and a nice blurring effect

I pretty much like it as it is. My only suggestion would be to boost the color saturation of the petals and/or reduce the saturation of the rest of the frame to give a little more impact to the flower.

Dylan, mondo, Seb...thanks for your thoughts and comments on this.

I actually looked at this, and tried rotating the shot...but it doesn't look right. It looks like I've deliberately rotated it...and I'm just not as crazy about it. The bud was like this naturally, to answer your question, mondo.
Seb, thanks for your ideas re: the colors. Much appreciated.

    Thanks again!

I like this one Emily....Give it a tighter crop excluding the "negative" space to the right and you have a winner..

    Re: Closed

so i was playing around alittle, i hope you don't mind. because this one has potential.

all i did was rotate 20 and crop it. but if you could reframe the shot more like this i think it would help alot.
as yogestee said, cropping off alot of the bright back ground seems to help alot.

Jurgen...thanks for your thoughts on this! I have another similar shot, with some different cropping...it may be more what you're picturing.

Dylan...thanks for your further comments on this...and the edits you experimented with. I'll likely try more with the crop.

    Thanks again,
    Emily

    Re: Closed

thanks, noticed i croped it alittle big and got alittle of the background from the rotation in the lower right corner.
