Not bad for a P&S. I like the orange tint in the cliff.

Nice shot. At first I thought this was Sunset Cliffs but then see land off the in the distance. I'm stumped, it could be anywhere. But, where is this?

Very nice for a P&S. The composure is excellent and well balanced. I'd have like to see a deeper sky, but with a point and shoot, you can't do much. Not that I'm one to talk anyway, I blow out the sky in 70% of my shots

Thanks for the comments. I am also surprised how the P&S got it right (it normally doesn't and I have thought about getting a better one). I did sharpen it up a bit in Corel, but I didn't adjust the colors or anything - that's the way it captured the sunset.

CF, it's on the walk down from Torrey Pines to the shoreline. We got right to the last point and it had a sign saying 'danger trail closed' or something. Since there were kids in the group, we decided against ignoring their warning even though most people were. Just walked up to the next ledge and took this shot..

Looks like a nice early morning shot. I love shooting down near the San Diego coastline in morning and evening. The light can be absolutely gorgeous. I agree with all the others, for a P&S this is a great shot, GB. Keep that camera with you at all times, especially when you don't have your main gear. You never know when that moment comes up and you will have wished you had just ANY camera with you.

    Hi GB,
I like the colour of the shot. The pic has 3 basic elements: land, water, and sky, which seems very natural to me. I wish the 2 poles in the centre-left were not there to deliver a 100% natural feel. Thanks for sharing.

That's a nice golf course (Torrey Pines). I really think the sun shining on the cliffs with the small amount of shadow makes this such a nice shot. The color of the cliffs is a wonderful contrast to water and sky.

I just read my post again...and looked at the picture...that's not a morning shot but an evening shot. The sun is setting in the west, lol.

    Re: Cliff over the Pacific

    Thks for commenting everyone.

Schrackman - Yeah the P&Ser came through this time. It's great for what it is but once you're used to using a REAL camera like an SLR, it's just hard to go back! But it's also much more compact than an SLR will ever be, can even fit it in a front pocket. Since they're coming down in price maybe I'll just get a better one (this shot is an aberration). btw, I wish it was facing east - I like sunrise shots over the ocean instead of dealing with the crowds at sunset. But I guess that's what makes the west coast west.

Yoyo - Thanks. It does have the elements.. (I never thought of that till you mentioned it). Those little barriers are everywhere, but I think I could manage to elim then from future shots.

Yakkosmurf - They say it is a nice golf course (it sure has the view). It's a travesty that I've never played
