    Classic Winter Scene

    Flickr Page

This was shot from the second floor of my house with my Powershot A570 IS as a RAW using the CHDK modified "firmware", converted using RAW Therapee, and then tonemapped/desaturated in Photomatix.

Yep...I stayed nice and warm while they struggled...but I did push other cars in the wake of and during this snowstorm....this one was just more fun to watch.

    Re: Classic Winter Scene

I like the scene and the framing of it from within your window frame. I am not too crazy about the halos and lighting that the HDR tonemapping achieved here. the inside alslo should appear to be darker than the scen outside. in this it appears almost identical in lighitng. Still a fun looking image, the effect is just not my personal taste

I think you had a great idea here. I can see what Gary is talking about but for me the concept of this photo is more important than the execution.

    I like it.
    No, I DON'T need that.

it is definitely a very interesting idea and i also love the way you included the frame of the window. but i'm not a huge fan of the lighting. it doesnt really give that perspective of someone looking out onto this scene with the two men and the car.

i think with a little messing around with the lighting, this picture could turn out incredible

Am I the only one that sees the humor?
