    Churches of Guatemala, Part 1

    I took a series of photos of churches in Central America while backpacking through. Here are three from Guatemala. I had difficult time there with over exposured skies even when I was up at 6:00 AM. Suggestions are appreciated.

    1) Cathedral of Antigua
    2) Church ruin of Antigua
    3) Church of San Juan La Laguna

    man i really like that second one. i think a more dramatic sky would draw attention away form the mt and the church.

    I like the composition on num2..though a little crowded on top. I think if you layered the sky seperately and decreased levels you could get a nice backdrop and some details in the clouds
    Please ask to edit photos and I'll do the same! :thumbsup:

    You did a very good job with these as in addition to shooting the church buildings you included some local context.

    Sure there are details that could be better but unless you can get back and reshoot I say leave well enough alone.

    BTW my issues are;
    1st image=too much fence.
    2nd image=you cut the top of the church off
    3rd image=the right side of the image lacks interest, either take a step or two back to get more on the right or crop everything off to the right of the door..

    Some good shots. I agree the second one is best. the warm colors of the ruins against the almost monotone back drop of the mountain is powerful. I do not mind the top being cropped by the frame, it works. Some good points made here already by other members.
    glad to see these
