    Church in HDR panorama.

Heres another one I took in Wales, this time of a Church in which my father is Deacon. He's going to have it printed and put on the wall somewhere. Its a BIG picture so again I can only post a link to it sorry. I did the same kind with this picture but used Photomatix, this time I used CS3, and it turned out sooo much better!

Nice capture and the panorama works pretty well. I'd like to see a little more contrast overall and then try to darken the stained glass windows to really make then stand out.

I'd like to make the windows stand out like you say. But dont know how, do you have a link to a tutorial for me? I will try adding some contrast too.

    Many thanks

    Re: Church in HDR panorama.

Mcphisto, there are a couple of ways you could do that (using Photoshop):

1- Select the windows and then with the burn tool just make them darker (you will need to play around with the tool's settings... 9% exposure and air brush selected are usually good settings)

2- If you are using PS CS2 or CS3 (as long as it is not CS) you can instead of using the burn tool after selecting... go to Image>Adjustments>Exposure and adjust accordingly....

3- Levels, Contrast and Color Balance might work for you too...

One thing to remember through it all is after selecting always set a feather option (Select>Feather) usually 5 px is enough... this allows for a smooth transition between where you manipulated and the rest of the image...no edge is seen!

BTW this is the same photo that you fixed with Lens Correction?? Looking really good....

    Hope this helps!

Thanks again Marcus and thanks PrevailingConditions for making the point in the first place. I used CS3 and it looks real good now. I would never have thought of using those tools.

    Re: Church in HDR panorama.

It is a nice pano and a very beautiful Church. I agree with the comments about deepening the richness of the windows, as you stated you have done already and so I'm sure it looks good. About the entire composition, I think it would have been even stronger if you had included more of the aisles and seats. The bottom looks abruptly cut off IMO, but still, you have a nice image there.
    Good work

Looks like a nice shot. Hard to tell though, cause it was so large (granted 640 px isn't great, but I think you should keep the image to <= 1000 pix for viewing).

Nice that you got in there w/o distractions or hassle.
