This looks pretty good to me.

    Did you post-processed the color?

Hmm.. different flower shot. I don't think I've seen such purples (violets) like this before. The blurred background flowers are perfect. The only part I don't know about is the dark leaves in the center - I thought it was a butterfly at first. It's still pleasing to look at.

    Very nice color and dof.
Is that actual dew/rain or from a spray bottle?

thank you for your comments! appreciate your taking the time to do so
Aging Eyes: yes the picture was processed in RAW, I used high contrast + saturation, and adjusted both the white balance (+M9) and exposure (+0.7), that brought out the color
GB1: I agree with you about the leaves, don't quite like them (they kind of look like a bow haha); I should have photographed a few days earlier, the leaves start to come out when the blossoms fall & I waited a bit too long this year
Frog: I'm not above using a hose or a spray bottle if it improves the effect, but in this case, I lucked out, the water is natural, rain drops (April showers .... bring May flowers ... la la la)

    Re: chokecherry

I think overall this is pretty nice but I do feel the bg is too bright detracting from the subject flowers. Although the color treatment is effective in the flowers and bg I do not find it appealing in the tones of the leaves. The composition works for me well, but I do think that maybe a crop from the right side into an 8x10 format might improve. It would center the bunch in the frame but I think it would be effective nonetheless.
I like your image overall with just a few reservations as pointed out.
    Good work
