Hey Jesika, this is pretty good. Great composition with the dog looking up and out of the frame. Great lighting on the face and eyes, good sharpness as well. I don't mind the tail cut off, i think the entire comp works as it is. The only thing distracting is the bright ring of reflection by the dogs neck. This can be taken out in PS. Very nice shot,

Thanks, I found that brightness a little distracting as well, I do not have any photo editing software yet, but I do plan on making that purchase in the next few weeks..

I think what this photo shows us is that you have a fair eye for composition which is where good photos start.

This entire image looks a little out of focus to me as if there were a bit of camera movement and as Gary noted there is that strange bright reflection going on. Take more pic, it is digital and shooting more doesn't cost a thing.
    No, I DON'T need that.

    Re: Chloe

Thanks, there probably was a little bit of camera movement as I tried to keep her in the view finder (I'm still trying to get used to looking through the viewfinder and NOT looking on the LCD screen.)

    Re: Chloe

The face is in perfect focus and sharp as a tack on my screen. The dog stands out really well against the blurred background (created by the f5.6 aperture chosen by your D40 - I got this from Exif info that's embedded in your digital file). Great shot! Keep shooting and don't hesitate to post here for feedback.
