Chicago Skyline : On a Normal Day

Seems like every time I go to Chicago it's nice and nasty. Cloudy, Raining, Snowing like crazy, never a nice blue sky or fluffy clouds always gloom. Still I really love this shot, but I know it needs some work.

The thing that jumps out at me is that you chopped off the right side of the fountain.

You should try to get there at sundown so you can get the colors of the Buckingham Fountain when it's all lit up, with a nice, blue twilight sky behind it.

I took this in September. (Didn't want to post a pic in your thread, just wanted to show you the difference when shooting the fountain later in the day.)

Re: Chicago Skyline : On a Normal Day

oh you are more than welcome to post it on my thread, when I'm in Chicago I'm usually busy with business or have other things to do and can't shoot. Time Restraints hold me back from a lot.
I had never even thought about the right side because I was more focused on the buildings in the background I totally agree with you. But I can't change that, since the raw of this image were on a hard drive that died, so I can only work with what is here most of the images I have been posting here as of late are what I was able to save from other sources.

Chris, it is a nice shot and believe me you don't need good weather to get a great shot.

DrRoebuck, thanks for sharing a comparison, helps me learn as well. Cheers S.
