    Chicago

Took this on Saturday evening. I'm not sure what I think about it.

    Good panoramic sweep of downtown.

The foreground needs to be cropped up closer to Grant Park and I'd change the White Balance or tone down that yellow cast.

The sky would improve a lot I believe just by altering the color slightly!

On top of what DRG wrote I think you should clone the light trail from the boat. A great image and a little PPing will make it awesome.

    Re: Chicago

I like the composition A LOT, with the two taller buildings anchoring each side. The exposure on the buildings is spot on.

As I usually say with skyline night shots, you should try taking a shot like this just after the sun goes down. You'll get a window of no more than a few minutes when the Incandescent/Indoor White Balance setting on your camera will turn the sky a deep, rich blue, while keeping the skyline colors accurate (for a night shot, that is).

From where did you take this shot?

    Re: Chicago

    First of all, great shot!

To make this even better, I would PS out the moving boat line in the center area. Since the reflections aren't great here I would crop out most if not almost all of the water, as I see the wakes/swirls in the water as distractions.

A little more space above the buildings might be good too, but hard to say if that would be too much if you crop out most of the water.

Great shot again. I need to visit Chicago one of these days.. I hear it's an artsy downtown.

First of all any picture of the greatest city in the world is excellent. I like the panaramic view. I agree the white balance could change the lights seem a little too bright. I really like it, it makes me think of home SOUTHSIDE!!!!!!!
