    chicago

i realized tonight that I need to take some time to update my portfolio as I haven't gone to take pics for myself for quite some time. These are some pics from my Chicago trip a few weeks ago at least...
The first and third are reflections, which is kind of a life project for me... the middle one is there because i like the blur and drastic contrast in lighting from the daylight to the "yellow lights".
All comments are welcome and thanks in advance *smile*

    I like the second

Although it looks a little soft.

Third has a very geometric look to it, pretty cool.

The first one was a little confusing at first. I usually look at the pics, then go and read, and I couldn't figure out what was going on there.

#1: Too many distracting elements, no real focus point. I can't say I really like the image, sorry
#2: Quite good, although the crop is too tight at the bottom. Also try to avoid people looking in your direction. I know, it's hard and sometimes you have to wait a bit longer until they get used to you standing there, but it's all worth the extra effort.
Personally I would have shot the interesting light patterns, which can lead to a fascinating abstract picture. I also think that this is the part of the image that attracts the viewer's eyes and not so much this group of people.
#3: Interesting pattern, something you should have went for in image #2. But I'm still doubting about the bottom part of this shot. It does have a lot of noise and blue cast though and the colors are a tad flat.
A good tool to remove noise is Neatimage: http://www.neatimage.com/
No digital photographer should be without it in my opinion. It's really an amazing product. I use it since v2.x.

Thanks for sharing these shots with us.

*smile* thanks for the comments... I suppose number one is a bit confusing... It's a reflection in a window... I stood inside the coffee shop and caught the reflection and then there was a car outside that attracted it's own attention. I think sometimes a photographer will like a certain shot even if it is not technically good.
As for two and three they were actually taken by car... Kev drove his miata and we had the top down and I just happen to see this as we drove by... there was no place to park and we were headed out of the city and home, but I thought it was a fun shot. As for the people looking... his miata is turbo'd and makes a bit of noise. *smiles*
Thanks so much for the comments though, they are appreciated.
