    Nice work. Pictures like this of the ones we love are why so many of us first got into photography.

    Is it possible that the dog is more in-focus than your daughter? See seems softer to me, but I would expect that at f/8. If I could change one thing in your photo it would be the sky color. It washes out too much and I find myself looking up there when viewing the lovely photo. I'm sure you can think of several ways to handle it, so I won't deleneate them here.

    I think LL nailed the critique on this photo - but I think its the sky thats throwing the softness on the foreground by being too bright.

    One other thing I would consider is to clone out the railing in the background.
