Great image Tim! I think it would be lovely even without the title and have an interest of its own but when you put the title with it there's an extra dimension there (there are so many layers of commentary that come to mind when you include this book in the premise) that made me smile and think of reading this book for myself the first time and then to my children too. Beautiful, beautiful. The scene is grand, the textures are palpable, the light is rich, and your daughter's position and expression are priceless. Put it somewhere where it can be seen and commented on again and again.
Beautiful photograph Tim and I would just love to listen in on that conversation. Adorable.
It's so nice but I'll be a pain in the neck anyway.
I would crop the top to remove that triangle in the top left corner. Had you the facility, at the time of taking, to zoom in even more? Perhaps a little more saturation. Maybe it's fine on that score because the screens here at work would'nt know a Spyder if they ever saw one.

I have a total lack of respect for anything connected with society, except that which makes the roads safer, the beer stronger, the food cheaper, and the old men and old women warmer in the winter and happier in the summer. Brendan Behan
Tim...I love this! This is one of my favorites I've seen on here lately...maybe it's the element of a "story" behind it.
The wall with the three circular windows or openings is wonderful, and you have just the right amount of snout showing from the horse. You caught a great moment with this.
I also like the repetition of the little circles (hooks?) underneath the windows...and I do agree with Tom about possibly cropping out the triangle in the upper right.
Brendan, I tried cropping off the triangle. It brings the top of the image down such that the Onceler looks to be in a kiosk. It may work, but for me it loses the impression of speaking from a large complex structure (a la Dr. Seuss). It may still work though. I’ll play with it some more. Thanks for the suggestion.
Great job on this photo. Just very well done!
Everything works on this photo...a perfect moment in time captured.
I would agree that the dark area (triangle) could be cropped, but I also agree that it does add to the building.
Either way the photo works, all tho I prefer without.
My favorite from your trip so far.
Cheers.
I'm always mentally photographing everything as practice.

Thanks Liz, OBie, and PT. It’s funny that my “snap-shots” seem to fare better than my attempts at “art” shots. Actually, I like shooting people and situations best.
Anyhoooo, I’ve attached two more shots of the Onceler that hopefully portray his regale and goofy sides. It was a beautiful morning at this old Hacienda, and this guy just had a lot to say.
