    Chatanika Dredge

Looking for gold near Fairbanks, the amount of tailings in this area is very impressive. It's amazing what we'll do for that yellow metal.

Its kind of a different composition with the natural landscape and the industrial aspect. But I'm loving the tones and sharpness of your shot. Good work!
Please ask to edit photos and I'll do the same!
    Thx, Rod

I wish the sunset/sunrise colors were stronger in this image but I love the composition and reflections.

    Very, very nice.
    No, I DON'T need that.

    Re: Chatanika Dredge

Thanks MB. You, as you well know...or me, can't have everything. I have to stay up very late in Fairbanks to get sunset photos(this is definitely a sunset location)and I have spent many a late evening on the tailing piles getting eaten up by mosquitoes watching the sun go down and seeing the little bit of cloud cover dissipate and have a clear blue alpineglow sky left. I was fortunate on this night to have a few things come together.

One of my big hopes for this site is to have a great Aurora night and paint the dredge with light in the foreground. So far all of the Aurora forecasts have either turned out the be wrong or I just plain didn't stay up late enough.
