chaos B&W's (input and opinions needed)

alright, we have a project in our photography class to make three prints, each of them representing a different term. chaos, order, and light. So I had the idea for chaos, and I asked a friend to "model" for me. unfortunately, he wasn't all that expressive, but I'm going to get another crazier friend tomorrow, but I'm really interested in your input and opinions. First off, which do you think looks the most chaotic (if any)? keep in mind I'm going to be throwing scratches and dust all over the negative (I shot pairs, one with film and one with digital, so you're seeing the digital copies). AND, what do you think would be a good expression to represent chaos along these similar lines (a close up portrait). wish my 28mm would focus closer. just click on the image to make it bigger. Thanks a lot everyone.

Brent, I think the one that best does it in this series, is the 3rd shot from the left...your friend biting the guitar. Question for you...this project, does it have to be closeups that represent each word? Or is this something you're trying out?
I have a hard time seeing "chaos" in these...if I had to give it a word, I'd say more like "torment" or something along those lines. Chaos, to me, is more like many things going on at once...and I'm not sure that close up portraits will work for that.
I'd like to see a series with a more expressive person, like you said...maybe that would make a difference.
Sounds like a really cool project though! I hope you post your others too, the order and light.

well it has to all fit together, and I have a great idea for my light and order shots. I'm just finding a hard time doing the chaos, as you said. But as our prof said, they all have to fit the same way. that's why I plan to scratch and dust up the negative for a final print, so it looks a bit more chaotic, if you know what I mean.

    Yeah...I see what you're saying.

Like I said, I'd love to see the others in your project too..see how they all go together.

Emily, here's the reshoot I had with a different friend and a different idea. I think it lends itself much better to chaos. Let me know if you think so. I wish I could photoshop the scratches and burns I hope to use.

I have to say I love the idea of this project, and that your photos are great. Especially the third one. The images are sharp, and the b\w tones are excellent. The very last one disturbs me but I suppose that's the point. lol Great work!

haha, thanks a lot for the comment. I'm really loving this class so far because it's giving me a reason to go out and do other types of photography than sports.

Yeah, I think that one works a LOT better, and like shrackman said, it's quite disturbing! Lol...I wish I could see the scratches and whatnot here too, but even without them, I think this photo does a better job showing chaos.
