    Chanda, again....

This time I utilized my XTis raw software to create a couple black and white photos by using the Monochrome setting with orange filter. I have to say I was surprised at how the software does a nice job of converting color images to b/w. One can actually shoot in this mode and then even change back to color in the raw software. But I just prefer to shoot in color and then make the change to b/w later on when I edit my photos.

The first one may appear a bit darker than you're used to seeing in a b/w, but that is the intended effect I wanted. But I'm not 100% sure I want to keep it that way. So critique is more than welcome.

I like them a lot. Well done.

I think I prefer the 2nd...the DOF is spot on, and the background is interesting, but not distracting.

The first one is too dark and seems flat for my taste, the second I really like.

    Re: Chanda, again....

I prefer the first one myself, I like the contrast between her dress and the surroundings. However, she is so dark skinned that it also creates extreme contrast between her and the dress, and she seems to be getting lost into the background. However, which isn't totally bad cause it seems to create a low-key feel to the photograph. The only other thing that isn't quite perfect is the bright tent in the background, which is definitely a distraction. Maybe you can PS it out.

    Re: Chanda, again....

I like the second one best but the dress is a little bright on the bottom right.. The tent is to bright in the first. The composition is real good on them both.

Definitly the second. Aside from the tent, there is something on her lower right side that competes with the dress.
    The second is great imho.
