    Catriona in the Pit [Nudity]

Catriona came down from Portland Oregon and we shot together last week. I got many shots of her that I'm happy with but I'm especially proud of this one. It's rare that I'm happy with a nude I shoot so I'm looking to the good people here to let me know what I've done right and what needs to be improved. Comments and critique are greatly appreciated!

It's a nice shot and you are right to be proud of it. The focus is exactly where it needs to be: on the eyes. I do find the little string/necklace thing around her neck a slight distraction though. Still, that's a small thing in an otherwise excellent photograph.

    Cheers

The first thing I was struck by was her eyes.
Not because of hte focus alone, but the colour.
Did you enhabce that, or is the saturation of the blue natural?

Why "the pit" in the title though?

No, she really has those crazy blue eyes. It's quite striking, actually. I've got several shots that really show them off, but they really spark in B&W. I'll probably post one or two.
The "pit" reference really doesn't have any specific meaning to the picture (which is untitled) other than where it was shot. I live in The Presidio in San Francisco, and I like to shoot among some of the old abandoned buildings. This area is a deep recess next to one of the buildings that appears to have no entrance or exit other than scaling the sides. Hence, the "pit". I love in a really cool neighborhood

I always enjoy your portraits, and this is no exception. You have a real nack for this type of thing, and where most would fail straying from the typical "glamour" portraits, you excel.
