    Caterpillar on leaf stalk.

I found this little chap in my back garden yesterday.
The picture was taken with my usual arrangement : Canon EOS 350D with the supplied 18-55mm lens fitted with a +10 Dioptre close-up lens.
I also used the fitted flash on the camera to give some fill in.

It received some fairly extensive processing because the day was quite dull.

I like it. I would bump the saturation slider up just a little.

and reduce your gamma by a stop or so--a little overexposed.

Like Don said, a little over exposed. The focus is good though. I like the way I can see the hairs on the caterpillar.
My kids think I have one big round eye and a light on my head!

Thanks for that - here's an edit incorporating what you suggested.

I'm not sure now whether it's underexposed a little.
It's quite a difficult call sometimes regarding saturation and exposure.

It looks better. I think a deeper DOF would have helped a lot. I know that is hard with high magnification, unless you use alternative light sources.

Albert, the final edit looks better since the exposure/brightness was reduced. the sharpness on the head is good and as payne stated, a bit more dof would have been good.
    not bad at all.
please do not edit and repost my photos

    Thanks for the comments.
I agree that a bit more DOF would have been better but the day was quite dull (In Britain where the rest of Europe is sweltering we have floods, rain, cold etc).
The ISO was 800, exposure 1/200 (because of the fill-in flash) at f 11.
