    Cat in the bush

I was out in the yard today, I decieded to frame up a kitten. Did I do good, bad or just another snap shot. Color, brightness and contrast.

First one I like the best, but the focus seems on the grass not the kitten.
I'd like #2 with a little fill flash, and #3 I think needs sahrpening on your garden tiger

They're all good, but unless it's my eyes, #1 and #2 are not quite sharp.

I hadn't been doing any shooting here lateley. so this was just practice. I try to stay in practice and learn as much as I can as often as I can. I wanted my photography to grow but it seems like I am experiencing a few growing pains right now.

Tyson, None of these look like snap-shots to me. And as my coach use to say "No Pain No Gain". I hated that saying. I like number 2 the best because it shows the kitten in motion. I also think it has the best comp with just the right amount of grass and kitten. I like the crop/framing aswell. The color and contrast look fine to me. The kitten does look a little dark and soft in # 3. I know you said these were just practice but I think their cute/good enough to warrent taking a few more. I hear theres money in pet photography.

The first two shots you posted are framed well but they are overexposed and the blow out on the kittens nose is too much.
The shot you posted later (post #2) is very good and the best of the three by far. I guess you know it as well as you stated it was your fav of the group. I think it could benefit from a crop all around, but especially up from the bottom to halfway up the rock, and a crop from the left side. The lighting on the kitten shows off the soft fur and stands the kitten out from the rich green foliage.

Tyson, nobody knows more about growing pains than I.
That said, the whole series is well concieved and although the focus may be off on one or two, the colors are excellent, and the framing also.
