    Carved Face - Holga..

Here's another I did in Maine.
I saw this while walking about at the Lobster Festival in Rockland.
What are your thoughts on this one?
    Thanks!

I think it's great. Love how the face takes most of the frame, it gives it the emphasis it needs. The background also adds to this shot and the feel of the holga itself is nice.

Ah the Lobster Festival! That's a great place to take pictures. My family missed it this year but glad you didn't. I can almost smell the lobsters cooking. Interesting totem image. The Holga kind of gives you the pinhole camera effect. Did you see the Miss Lobster contest? My favorite are the people running the carni rides.

    Cheers,

This (and the one's in the background) remind me of Asian Spirit poles. Reminders of community members of the past or minor Deities being honored or appeased.

The Holga vignette focuses attention on the main one but the others lurk at the side as companions. The angle of the walk/pier leading away and up make this fairly cheery for me even though it is a "dark". Very solid composition and good central theme. I like it.

Glad to see you back from New England. Hope you got to eat lobster and lots of drawn fresh butter!
