Wow! These are fantastic natural images.
Great expressions they really gave me a feel of what cards the guy had in his hand. They don't look good lol!
The dof, the colours, lighting and exposure are all wonderful.

Jurgen...I like all three of these a lot. His expressions are great, and as Alison said the colors and lighting are as well.
One thing I was thinking while looking was that I wished there was more emphasis on the cards somehow...like maybe more of the other person's hands and "hand" (heh)...or the cards more in focus.
That's just a thought...I like the photos anyhow, just it would be cool to try different things with it.

Poker is my other hobby equal to my photography habit. In poker, you read your opponents body language to size him/her up.

This photo tells me he has a bunch of middle cards with no aces or face cards and is wondering if the the pair of fives is strong enough to work with or should he chase the straight.

    Just kidding.....

I do play a lot of poker though. It's too bad they don't allow cameras in poker rooms.....it is a sea of characters....including myself.

    Nice shots....

All three are great, but I feel the tension highest in the second. I agree that your dynamic range is just great!! I would like to see the cards the other player is holding bruned in just a bit to make them more distinct and a bit less hot.
