Oh wow, if I did see something wouldn't be worth mentioning. I love that old bug.

Seems to me the main subject is the car with a fantastic background, Was it possible to include the whole car? I'm thinking you were limited in space ... As turre is barely enough room for the top of the building and bottom of the tire

This is just a nit pik, but I'd like to see the noise in the sky taken down.

I would like to see a little bit less lens distortion and I think the whole care as well as the top of the building dome would have been nice ...however, still, a very nice shot.

Nicely done. I do think that another angle might help this shot. The cars and the building on the left don't add that much. Plus, I really like the streetcar behind the bug, but it seems a bit muted.

    Re: Capitolio - HDR Series

    Thanks Greg

Aramando, I don't have any shots with all the car. I checked. hmm, not sure why I composed it like this. might have been space or just preference. Thanks!

n8, yeah the noise is a bit much. thanks!

llewpics, thanks i'll keep that in mind for the next ones.

Arne, thanks. I don't think I have another angle here but I took many shots from downtown havana at night and will be posting them!

Another fine work, Liban. I do like the other one better, but this is still very good. I an feeling the entire crop looks a little too tight, but other than that everything is fine. Yep, i do see the noise in the sky and a bit of haloing around the edges of the building. Easily cleaned up. Love the scene.

thanks Gary. This was one of my earliest shots using the new HDR software that I have, I've been getting better at controlling noise and haloing now, i'll have to rework this one.

Actually Liban, I'm feeling like the tight crop here is good. It brings me right in there and overall the balance of the comp feels good. Interesting sometimes how the mind and the heart see things differently.

Yeah, i think the tight crop puts you right in there. One negative bit about this photo that I noticed and Arne hinted at it, is that it's right heavy. that and the noise and all the other stuff people mentioned.

    Re: Capitolio - HDR Series

Better w/o the people IMO, so points there. But I'm not sure I like the HDR effect as much on this image, as it seems a tad surreal. The composition's a bit hard for me to deal with too, seems like the bug shouldn't be half of the frame as it is. It (the car) may also be too bright and cast too much of a shadow, making it look like an amateur flash shot (not that it IS , just that it looks like that..). Finally, it may be a tad plain to be the subject compared to the background, which is actually more interesting.

Looks like you're on an HDR kick! I am too, actually; I have a bunch I haven't posted yet but will soon. I think I need to think about what exposures to use when I do them, instead of the standard five shots at +- 1 f-stop. Some shots necessitate a greater variance or more shots, that is.

    Re: Capitolio - HDR Series

I'm more on a NIK software kick. I had photomatrix the whole time (which I paid fore) but didn't like the results and just put it aside.

Looking forward to seeing your HDR creations.

    Thanks GB!

I love the texture/grain. Adds richness to this scene. And I LOVE the star/light at the top. A seemingly minor detail which, IMO, adds so much.

Same here. BUT, it really doesn't bother me that much in this image.

    Good job!

Thanks guys, I agree about the noise. I'm learning how to control it for HDR images. this is one of my first ones.
