    Can't Go Wrong

Shot this candid today of my daughter with a Nikon D50 and 35mm f/2 lens set at f/2.8 and something like 1/30 @ ISO 800. It's cropped some.

Please share your thoughts and comments. I've posted many more critiques lately than requests for critique and would love to hear what you think. You can't go wrong with kids and puppies, right?

The expressions are really priceless. I would loosen the crop to include all of the front paw of the puppy, tone down the blown highlights using curves in Photoshop, and work a little on the background distractions in the upper left corner.

Nevertheless, the strong centre of interest carries the photo and the corrections are somewhat minor.

    LL,

Moments can really carry a photo, even if the image has flaws. This is a strong shot, and the flaws that have been mentioned, though worth fixing, are not detrimental. You could also crop this to the classic square, I think the way the subjects are positioned lends itself well to that aspect. Well done.

    Hi LL,
I especially like the expression of the doggie. The DoF also gives an impression that he is the subject. I just wonder why he is so unhappy.

Thank you all for the comments. Yes, Sebastian, I thought of the square and would have done it, but I wanted the format here for something else I had in mind. Yoyo, the puppy was tired for a moment and crazy happy the next -- sort of how puppies are, I guess.
