    Can I ?

Yeah, i know. . .whats up with the cans, man. I like em . . . their apparent age and colors from rust and different layers of paint. This Drum caught my eye and would like to know your thoughts. Do you find the elements here appealing .

Gary, While I like the overall composition (the background and the sky are especially nice) I must say that I don't like how the can come out in this one. Colours are great but I get the disturbing feel that the can was heavily post processed (which didn't happened with your others photographs of the same series). I can't go too technical as I don't exactly know what you have done here but the shadow behind the can almost feels like an "add on". Textures on the can itselfs seems to have been somewhat softened which give me the impression of an even, unrealistic surface. I am sure that there will be people outthere to like that but I much prefer the genuine feel typical to the rest of your work.

    regards

    Hi Gary,

I do agree with Seb on this one. I very much liked how you took the three cans in a row and how, somehow, the color processing felt natural. In this case, however, there is really nothing in this pic that grabs my attention and makes me want to keep looking at it. Maybe the BW enviromnent is too dark?

    Just my 2 cents.

    Cheers,

    Steph.

    Re: Can I ?

Thank you Seb and Steph for your feelings on this. I agree with you on the post processed look of the can here. After reading the comments, I reedited teh original shot and got a better, more natural result ( also less saturation) and feel it is an improvemnent( jeesh, a couple a Heinekens and my spelling goes out the window) Appreciate your honesty. What I like alot about the shot, and what I was after, was thesky and cloud, the tall grass or phragmites, and the colors of the can that i like. thanks again
