    Phil,

This is a great shot. I really like the clarity and detail. I have wanted to get to the Capital for awhile now and this just reinforces that wish. I just wish it didn't have all those unsavory types around (the state politicians ! ).

    Thanks for sharing.

I like it, Nicely done. The color is stunning. Great job.

wonderful shot. Love the blue of the sky.

Just wondering, why were the flags at half-mast?

Very nice. What was your pp? It almost looks like the sky was inserted.

excellent shot, very sharp! My one nitpick is the blue of the sky looks a bit fake, or HDR'd, I'd prefer to see a slightly brighter sky.

Love the clarity composition and detail.
The lighting feels a bit off somehow.
Bright light, low on the dome and another bright area on the railing high on the building.
    PS PP tricks?
    Look through a glass eye.
    Give it a few tries.

I'm starting to think this may have been several shots with different focal points too for that kind of dof.

    Re: California Capital Building

its a stunning shot, I really like the pov and obviously the clarity like everyone else said....something does seem a bit strange about the lighting....that sky seems a bit abnormal. Either way, it is a really nice image, and great pp work.

I shot this around 2pm... no bracketing involved.... just one shot in RAW
    I use photoshop cs4 .... selective sharpening,brightening,contrast, & saturation.
The lens used was a Tamron 10-24 F/3.5-5.6
    setting was : 1/80 , F/16, 24mm

    Re: California Capital Building

I think you have a wonderful photograph regardless of how it was achieved. In this day and age of computer manipulation, who knows how anything is produced. I admire the clarity, that sky is very difficult to capture and the blue is blue enough for me. I wish the state was in as good a condition, generally, as your picture would depict. Nicely done.
