    Cabbage patch delivery

Not really meant to be great, just tried a low light candid. I realize the hair is lost, but any suggestions for other low light opportunities?

BTW, this is a photo of a lady at the babyland gen hospital delivering a new "baby". It's a cabbage patch kids thing. Don't ask why I, of all people was there...LOL

That is really cool, payn. We are thinking about ordering one for our great-niece. She just had her 1st birthday on Jan. 11th. Her hair is lost in the darkness up there, but what really makes the photo for me is her intent expression on "delivering" the baby in front of her.

ha, I think it's a scream! no valid suggestions for the low-light hair problem (use a blonde next time?) but as the previous comment points out, I think the best part of the shot is the intent look on the woman's face.

Thanks for your replies. This was a bit of experimenting with a lens and candids, and I am glad you guys feel that I caught a moment.

It really was kind of "cute". You can order a doll there, and pick out all the specs (hair, eyes, etc.), and they make it for you there. Then they have people come into this room, and they "deliver" your new "baby from a head of cabbage. After that, the child the baby was made for goes into an "office", and fills out adoption papers, complete with witnesses, nurses, etc. A wonderful experience for a little girl, the one that got this doll had this amazing expression on her face, i tried to get a candid of her, but it was just a tad dark.

Yes, the intent look, also the white smock and the way her hand is tucked under the doll she looks like a nurse handling a baby.

great capture payn...there is something really cool and fun about this photo. your portrayal of the "birth" is cracking!

I'm not overly worried about the loss of the womans hair to the background, but it is perhaps a little dark in the upper region of the photo. I'm sure a certain amount of rescuing could be achieved in photoshop if it concerns you and you wanted to go down that way.

    great photo...makes me smile!

    cheers

    My neck of the woods.

I live about 45 minutes from the 'hospital'. I took my two kiddos there about two weeks ago, on their last day of Christmas vacation. Yeah, it may be a little cheesy, but my 5 and 7 year old girls had a great time and the trip provided plenty of opportunities for smiling faces for my shots.

Now you've done it I've got to ask 'why of all people were you there'? LOL

Excellent capture, I can't believe the sincerity on the face of the woman, if it was me I'd be rolling on the floor :-)

Not bothered about the hair and I wouldn't even crop or rescue it.
