    BW Husky.

Experimenting with BW on him is always interesting. A couple of variations on the BW conversion that I would like feedback on, any comment/critique welcome. I've included color original as well. Thanks for looking.

The first shot is beautiful with the slight angle and the winking eye. Normally I don't take super sharpness too seriously but in this case reasonable sharpness, all over, would be a prerequisite for me.

I agree with Overbeyond here. In addition, B&W is a good choice for these images, color only seems to distract my eye to the dogs nose, mouth and lower body.
#1 is the best of the series. A beautiful animal.

    # 1 and B/W for sure. It seems a little soft, though I am not sure if its the glare from behind my computer.

The focus seems to be off in all of the photos. You should focus on the eye of your subject. The photos dont seem to draw me in, as they would if the focus was sharp and on the eye.

#1 would be a great shot if the focus was on

    Re: BW Husky.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Yeah his coat lends itself well to BW, but that orange hue in color just doesn't do it.

Good call on sharpness, I don't know why but the only one I applied any sharpening to was # 2. Fortunately the eyes are pretty close within focal plane and only require a tiny bit of sharpening.

Rylan - If I did focus directly on the eyes, the snout would be completely soft and out of focus, and would ruin the picture. The "focus on the eyes" wisdom is more appropriate with humans, where their entire face can easily be within a focus plane. But, in a shot like this, with 5-6 inches of snout in front of the eyes, it would destroy it. Focus falls back a lot better than it falls forward. Anyway, fixed the eyes.

I think I like the color edit the best but flip a coin. They are all good.
