Fun with extension tubes. One set, stacked, with 300mm f/4 L IS, using a monopod for a little added stability. They were feeding on a plant in a raised planter, which helped save my knees

I like the second shot best. I would crop out some of the flower on the left. I have tubes but I've never tried this. I'll have to read up on how to do this.

I'll try a crop when I get home tonight.

I love my extension tubes. The hardest part for me for this sort of macro, without a tripod, is how shallow the DOF is. Any little movement and I've got a blurry shot.

Wow, what amazing color, like an Easter palette. They're not perfect but I really enjoy the color and DOF. Top one doesn't quite have enough subject in focus, I think, and the bottom one is a little clipped off at the top and a tad too soft. Anyway, nice for what they are!!
