Burger King suggests that one of their beef burgers deserves a Michelin star - and the marketing campaign has caught the eye of the famous culinary guide.

The stunt certainly didn't really start.Initially, fewer than 500 people signed the petition but received a response on Facebook from Michelin Guide's social media team.Who said you want silverware?The Michelin Guide wrote in response to a Burger King Luxembourg post, which is also promoting the campaign, before suggesting that they'll actually try the burger.Michelin jokingly promises that inspectors will judge burgers according to established benchmarks, which include the quality of ingredients, their expertise in cooking, the harmony of flavors and the chef's personality that appears on the plate.


The first Michelin Guide was published in 1900 as a travel guide for motorists in France, and since then it has become the foremost culinary authority around the world.Reviewers used five criteria to judge restaurant results and have awarded at least one Michelin star award to more than 15,000 restaurants around the world.105 restaurants are currently listed in the guide as receiving a maximum of three Michelin stars.
