Good background, though I wish there was a bit more DOF/sharpness on the subject. Lighting is a bit harsh, evidenced by the washed-out areas. You might also try cloning out the purple flare spot in the reptile's eye.
DoF was tricky on this one as I was at the inside focal limit of the lens (about 3' from her face). Lighting was indeed harsh, it was noon and we were on a black painted concrete dock.
I've been going back and forth on "the spot" at first I thought it was chromatic aberration, but when I view the original 1:1 (that eye is 587 pixels wide by itself) there is the reflection of part of a cloud within, which leads me to believe this is a reflection of the blue sky surrounding the sun, not flare.
I managed to get about a dozen shots off within tail thrashing distance before it finally had enough and jumped into the intercoastal waterway.
Here's one a little further out w/ a *bit* more DoF
WOW. Those are just SICK! (that's good) Really nice. I actually like the little blue "starburst" in the eye. Kinda matches the little warty-like bumps on its back. I am so weird.
