    Budapest Night Fountain

Had a crummy little tripod but it got the job done.

Sorry, mb, but those colors either are or seem way off to me. Is that the fountain's real color or an effect you want. WB?

a very hard exposure with the bright building and need to get a slow speed for the darker fountain. This one could use some tweaking in PP to try and bring out the fountain a little more. NIce composition.
Please ask to edit photos and I'll do the same!

I agree with Frog. This might actually be the colors the lights were putting out but a WB change to get rid of the HPS orange tint to a more white tint would work. I also wish the top of the building wasn't cut off. I think a bump up on the blacks would also help the sky.

I can deal with the orange background even though I know it isn't quite normal (I bet it was yellow in real life), but I just can't deal with the blue statue and fountain Looks like some color shift under the doorways too (to green! I havent seen this since shooting Kodachrome as night).

It is interesting that folks seem to agree that the colors are off (I am pretty sure they are) and that the color shift bothers them. What attracted me to this shot was the messed up colors. OTOH I am glad I asked before I started showing it off......

    Thanks everyone.

    Really mixed lighting !
Green fluorescent glow in the doorway arches.
Orange sodium lighting on the building.

How did the statue/fountain end up so blue?
It is far deeper blue than I'd expect using flash.
Was the saturation turned all the way up, or has this been edited?

The statue was lit by a combination of ambient lighting from boats on the river right behind me, indirect sidewalk light and just a touch (-3) of fill flash. No editing. Olympus 420.

Wow, then the boats must have had really blue lights compared to everything else.
I can see lighter blue almost cyan highlights on the statue where your flash was reflecting back.
