    Broken Jar

Some of the stuff you find while taking a walk in the woods. I took the original in color, but when I was playing around with it in paint shop I came up with this. What do you think?

This is not bad, Reamsie. The old jar scattered about with old dried leaves lays out a nice subject and the faded sepia like color treatment brings it along as well. i think a bit more contrast can make this pop some more, but you have a nice old faded look to this subject.
I'm not crazy about the frame.

Thanks for the feedback. I thought it might looks a little light.

    Re: Broken Jar

Very nice vintage coloration. I love the borders and color, but I think both of them could be tweaked. The color could be a tad deeper, maybe burnt orange. The sides could have a more uneven, burnt look. But it's good as is also. My only complaint is really the fact that the opening of the jar should have more space in front of it, rather than the space being on the right side of the image. Nitpick, maybe..

Thanks, I'm still playing with it. The reason there is more space on the right is because I found the jar sitting in a trough under a pump. So the open end is right against the side of the trough. Here is the original, you can see it a little better.

Your treatment makes this more appealing than the original shot. Follow GB1 and Gary's advice, and you'll have yourself a real winner.

    Nice catch.

    I like the second.
